Pfft 2 Crudités

Honesty is the best policy… So they say lol. So let’s just say I had a pretty dismal weekend, it involved lots of chocolate and grazing on snacks, quantity wise I probably ate the same amount of volume as NAS. Saturday we did roast pork, but not until after I had eaten sausage rolls, cheese baguette, and an Easter egg or two. Sunday we went to my dad’s and had a buffet type tea thingy… Which was very nice but really not that satisfying so I spent most of the evening munching as well, Even though I was quite stuffed.

As you can probably tell mothering Sunday got to me a bit this year. Plus I seemed to of lost my motivation. I’ve not sat on NAS again for a few weeks and I’ve had quite a lot of stuff to do in the house (still have grr). In the end though I had a nice weekend and Horatio was as usual a little cutie. He’s got the back chatting down to an art now, Bless.

So its buffet/picnic time of the year again, we are about to hit birthday season… Argh. I just can’t say no to buffet food. You would of thought all those years of working in a catering company I would be sick of it… Yeah right I love it, which is until I realise how much I’ve eaten yet I still feel hungry argh. Or that even when I am so full to bursting point you will still see me hovering around the buffet table looking for something nice to nibble on. You will however never find me nibbling on a piece of cucumber or carrot and defo no way ever would I eat raw celery.

The funny thing is I quite like salad as a meal or even in a sandwich, just naked on its own it does nothing for me. I suppose that’s a bit like I am with fruit… I enjoy a nice crumble or meringue (have to admit here even with meringue I avoid fruit…. The other day I had meringue nest ice-cream and that cracking chocolate sauce hmm).I honestly wish I could look at fruit and salad in its natural form and think hmm yummy that looks nice. Even the dips don’t really do it for me. And i definitely don’t like dipping fruit in a chocolate fountain.

As you know I don’t restrict what I eat, the only thing i try to do is not snack between meals, at meal times I pretty much eat until I’m full. This is difficult with party food because often you just graze, also if you’re the fat one at the party you don’t want to seem like a real pig and have a plateful… That just won’t work ESP if you’re telling everyone ‘honestly I don’t know why I’m fat I hardly eat anything’ as you are munching on cucumber.

So I’ve decided to try and combat this in future by limiting myself to one plateful… It’s daft in the week I have lunch usually a sandwich or baguette, I would never even think to go back for another one (only when I’m not being good on diet, other times have been known to eat 4 or 5 sandwiches in a day). But because it’s there and it’s part of the socialising or even to while away the boredom. I tend to go back time and time again. One plateful should be sufficient to try everything, and if I was being really pernickety I could have one for savoury and one for sweet stuff, it wouldn’t be right to mix now  would it.

If after I’ve had my quota I still want to munch -I doubt I would still be hungry- then I will just have to have the carrots and cucumber (still no celery)  Or I could  even try the fruit.

Even after my weekend of excess, I got straight back on the wagon yesterday… lunch was scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms and tomato, followed by a banana brownie ( will do my recipe page soon). Dinner was chicken breast, chips and peas. with coleslaw and of course hellmans mayonnaise. ooh followed by a toffee ice-cream mousse thingy from tesco.

my weight this morning was 22st 9lbs. which I’m pleased with was expecting it to be almost 23st again. obviously I would prefer to be lower, but after what I ate at the weekend thats good believe me.
