So the summer holidays have started – they don’t officially start here until Monday, when Steve starts his 2 week holiday. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy with the boy home it’s been a little full on, hence the lack of posts and updates. And why I am going to try and squeeze it all in here.
I shall start how my week has panned out; it began with a positive when I rode Nas last Friday. The plan was to ride him over the weekend as well. That was until he came in with a bad swollen weepy eye, it was streaming down his face. So I used a saline solution to clean it up and then wiped his face with fly wipes.
It had cleared up pretty much by Sunday, but then we spent all day Sunday pulling up more ragwort and making a big fire. By the end of the day we were totally done in and just about managed to do a BBQ, before collapsing into bed. This week has been hard because Steve still had to work when I and the boy were in holiday mode and annoyingly so has the weather. Not that I am complaining it just would have been nice to hit the beach as a family.
Next thing was Nas came in with a cut to his hind leg –which I bathed and covered in sudocrem- . Then poor spirit came in with a swollen weepy eye and sores on her jaw from the grazing muzzle, so back out came the cotton wool and sudocrem. Her eye is now on the mend after being bathed. And they are out at night and in during the day while the flies are rife, and so spirit doesn’t have to wear muzzle constantly. I did manage to give them both a quick bath in the week, can you believe it was their first one of 2012.
My diet has been pretty much out of the window due to the boy being home oh and general tiredness from weeding and lots of driving. Every time I get a grip on it I seem to lose my grasp. This week has been especially hard because I knew it would all change next week when Steve is home and we head out exploring with the boy. And the lack of real exercise, when the boy is home I don’t tend to get stuck into extra jobs outside. The house is fairly tidy though, except for one room which I am hoping to tackle today. That is after I have clipped the dogs and done some poo picking.
I have come to a couple of diet conclusions though, 1 I really shouldn’t eat before 11am no matter how hungry I am, and 2 I should stick to the two meals and a treat. I think the next couple of weeks we will aim to have brunch-treat-dinner, with fruit and yogurt as desserts. We are also hoping to get some proper family walks in while Steve is off, which I will continue when he goes back to work.
Right that’s it; today I want to get the dogs clipped off, the fields poo picked and the boy’s bedroom tidy. Tomorrow I am going to Essex to pick some bits up then Sunday I am hoping to clip Nas’s legs oh and RIDE!
