I managed to be good yesterday even though I was starving by the afternoon I made myself have an apple, banana and almost a whole packet of extra strong mints. I’m well chuffed with myself for managing this, even though I very nearly didn’t luckily Horatio was tired after nursery so he went straight to bed, well almost I had to read him 4 books first. This meant we could have dinner earlier than usual. And actually the fish pie wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I recon if I had to wait until the usual time for dinner I would of definitely crashed and burned. Luckily something was on my side for a change.
Yesterday I was playing with the thought of roughing Nas off for the winter, not that he does any work at the moment anyway but I just thought I would leave getting him fit again until the New Year, when I should also be a bit fitter. After discussing it with a girl on the yard I decided it would actually be more beneficial to both of us if I did some in hand leading and groundwork, so yesterday we did about 20mins in the indoor school working on some circles and square halts. He really does love the attention and I love being out there with him, I get to switch of completely and concentrate on me and him. I don’t know why I have these silly notions of not doing stuff with him; it is another habit I have got to break.
Ok so I don’t have the video of Nas being silly down the field, every time I tried to video him he went all shy and closed his mouth. (Doesn’t look like I’ll make £250 out of him after all lol). I do however have another video I thought I had lost it, but today I was doing a project for Horatio (his family tree) and found it in a folder totally unrelated to it :-s another task for me. It’s of me riding him for the first time when we bought him back in 2007. It’s a little bit wobbly but you can’t blame me for this one, because for a change I’m actually in the video lol.
This is the first time I had ridden in nearly 14years, I know the exact date I last rode properly because it was my BHS stage 1 exam, and that was in December of 1993. I had stopped working at the riding school about 3 months earlier, but decided to go through with the exam because it was already booked.
